Latah-Hangman Neighborhood Council (LHNC) is a volunteer-run organization made up residents who live, work, or operate a business within the designated neighborhood boundary that meet regularly to maintain and improve the quality of life in Spokane, increase resident participation in local decision-making, and form an effective partnership between the City and neighborhood residents.

If you live, work or own property in Latah-Hangman Neighborhood (here’s a map), there’s a spot for you on the council. It’s not exclusive, and there are zero dues or fees.

The Latah-Hangman Neighborhood is in City Council District 2 and is in Commissioner District 5.

Use this webpage to learn about upcoming meetings, events and opportunities to get involved with for the Latah-Hangman Neighborhood Council.

Annual neighborhood projects can include:

  • Community Engagement Events (summer picnic, park get-togethers, etc.)
  • Traffic Calming Improvements (mobile speed feedback trailers, asphalt art, etc.)
  • Neighborhood Clean-up Events (litter pick up, etc.)

Projects are driven by neighborhood volunteer capacity and interest. If you would like to participate in or lead a project in the neighborhood, please attend an upcoming meeting or reach out to latahvalleync@gmail.com.
