11th Ave bridge entrance to High Bridge  ·  Updated Oct. 14, 2026

Neighbors want dog waste bags and garbage service at the 11th Ave bridge entrance to High Bridge. We are working out whether the City provides these at this spot.

What’s happening

The council’s list asks for dog waste bags and garbage service at the 11th Ave bridge entrance to High Bridge. Owners must clean up after their dogs, but the City’s dog page does not say whether bags or cans are provided at High Bridge. It lists bag dispensers and cans at the South Hill Dog Park.

The 11th Ave bridge is a confirmed entrance to High Bridge.

We have no record yet of this being reported to the City or of any City response.

Who handles it

  • Bags and cans at a park: City Parks and Recreation, (509) 625-6200 or parks@spokanecity.org.
  • If the spot is not park land: The responsible office is to be confirmed. Spokane 311 can route the request.

Why it matters

Without bags and a can, waste ends up on the ground or in the creek, and people are less likely to clean up after their dogs.

Where things stand

  • Next — Ask Parks and Recreation whether bags and garbage service can be added at this entrance. No City response on file.
  • Raised by council — Added to the council’s open issues list. Date and who raised it to be confirmed.

How you can help

You do not need to be an expert. What you see every day is useful.

Start here (a few minutes)

  • Tell us how it looks. Is waste or litter building up, and where?
  • Tell us too. Share the spot, when it happens and what you saw in the form below, so we can follow up with the City.
  • Offer to help. If you could stock bags or keep an eye on the entrance, let us know.

Community discussion

Have a question, an update or firsthand experience to share? Add to the conversation so neighbors and Council volunteers can work toward solutions together. Comments are reviewed by the council before they appear. Comments are community comments, not verified facts or official Council positions.
