Council Operations  ·  Updated Oct. 14, 2026

The council needs a Treasurer to keep its financial records clear and open to members.

What’s happening

The Treasurer is an officer of the council. The role keeps track of the council’s money, reports to members at general meetings, and keeps receipts and paperwork in order for grants and reimbursements.

The seat is open now. Someone who is organized and comfortable with simple records can do it. You do not need to be an accountant.

Why it matters

Neighbors and funders trust the council to handle money openly. A Treasurer makes sure every dollar is recorded, receipts are kept, and members can see where funds go.

Where things stand

  • Next — Find a neighbor willing to serve as Treasurer. Duties and term to be confirmed against the council bylaws.
  • Thursday, November 19, 2026, 6 p.m. — Next general meeting. Come meet the council and ask questions about the role.

How you can help

Careful and consistent matters more than experience. We will walk you through the council’s process.

Start here

  • Take the seat or share it. If you could keep simple financial records and report at general meetings, let us know in the form below.
  • Know someone who would be good at it? Pass this page along.
  • Just curious? Ask us what the role involves. There is no obligation.

Community discussion

Have a question, an update or firsthand experience to share? Add to the conversation so neighbors and Council volunteers can work toward solutions together. Comments are reviewed by the council before they appear. Comments are community comments, not verified facts or official Council positions.
