Council Operations · Updated Oct. 14, 2026
The council needs a Communications Chair to keep neighbors informed about what the council is doing.
What’s happening
The Communications Chair is an officer of the council. The role keeps neighbors informed through the council website, the newsletter, the info line at (509) 724-0331 and the Facebook group.
Routine notices, such as agendas, approved minutes and event announcements, can go out directly. Anything that speaks for the council is reviewed by other officers first. You do not need to be a writer or designer.
Why it matters
Neighbors can only take part in what they hear about. Clear, steady communication brings more people to meetings and helps them feel heard.
Where things stand
- Next — Find a neighbor willing to serve as Communications Chair. Duties and term to be confirmed against the council bylaws.
- Thursday, November 19, 2026, 6 p.m. — Next general meeting. Come meet the council and ask questions about the role.
How you can help
If you like keeping people in the loop, this role fits. The council has tools and a review process in place.
Start here
- Take the seat or share it. If you could help keep the website, newsletter and info line up to date, let us know in the form below. The work can be shared.
- Know someone who would be good at it? Pass this page along.
- Just curious? Ask us what the role involves. There is no obligation.
Community discussion
Have a question, an update or firsthand experience to share? Add to the conversation so neighbors and Council volunteers can work toward solutions together. Comments are reviewed by the council before they appear. Comments are community comments, not verified facts or official Council positions.
