The council approved a Vinegar Flats Planning Committee to give the Inland Empire Way corridor a voice in City planning. The committee has submitted its resolution and is waiting for the next stage.

What’s happening

At its September 17 meeting, the council approved a Vinegar Flats Planning Committee. Its focus is the Inland Empire Way corridor: setting goals for City planning, and looking at how planning for the business corridor affects the neighbors who live there.

The council submitted a resolution on the City’s draft Future Land Use Map on October 1. The committee will report to the council at the November 19 general meeting. More information is expected as the map moves to its next stages. For details on the map itself, see the land-use map page.

Why it matters

Decisions made now about land use and traffic along Inland Empire Way will shape the corridor for years. An organized committee helps neighbors and businesses speak with one clear voice.
