Vinegar Flats entry · Updated Oct. 14, 2026
Neighbors want trash picked up on the routes coming into Vinegar Flats. We are working out which City office handles litter on these streets and whether volunteers can help in between.
What’s happening
The council’s list flags trash on the routes coming into Vinegar Flats. We have not yet pinned down the specific streets or how often litter builds up.
We have no record yet of this being reported to the City or of any City response.
Who handles it
- Litter and dumping on public property: report to Spokane 311 (spokane311.org or 3-1-1). Which City office picks up litter on these routes is to be confirmed.
- Volunteer cleanups: the council can borrow supplies such as grabbers, bags and safety vests through the City’s Neighborhood Beautification Project. Availability and process to be confirmed with the Office of Neighborhood Services.
Why it matters
The entrances are the first thing neighbors and visitors see. Litter makes the area feel neglected, and regular reports help get it on a crew’s schedule.
Where things stand
- Next — Report the specific streets through Spokane 311 and ask the Office of Neighborhood Services about cleanup supplies. No City response on file.
- Raised by council — Added to the council’s open issues list. Date and who raised it to be confirmed.
How you can help
You do not need to be an expert. What you see every day is useful.
Start here (a few minutes)
- Report litter. Use Spokane 311 and note the street and the date.
- Tell us too. Share the spot, when it happens and what you saw in the form below, so we can follow up with the City.
- Join a cleanup. If you would help pick up litter at the entrance, let us know.
